2. Brussels Griffon
This human-like toy with a sophisticated personality weighs no more than 12 pounds and has enough personality for ten ordinary dogs. The intelligent, loving, and hilariously self-important Brussels Griffon makes a sympathetic companion for sophisticated adults. Old folk songs gave them the moniker “bearded dogs” due to their black muzzle and whiskers.

3. Golden Retriever
A common addition to many American homes is this golden dog. In fact, according to the American Kennel Club’s popularity rankings, golden retrievers are ranked third. Due to their fame, two presidents of the United States have had golden retrievers. Liberty was the name of President Ford’s golden retriever, and Victory was the name of President Reagan’s dog.

4. Bulldog
Bulldogs may live happily in apartments and are excellent companions for inexperienced pet owners. They are friendly toward all family members and relatively low-maintenance puppies. Just be careful to keep them out of harsh weather conditions, and also make sure to give them adequate exercise because these dogs, who are content to spend the majority of their time on the couch, are at risk for weight gain.

5. Dalmatian
Although we are unsure of their exact origins, Dalmatians have likely existed for a very long time. Spotted dogs racing next to chariots have been discovered painted on the walls of Egyptian tombs. Plus, we can’t deny their cuteness in the iconic Disney movie, “101 Dalmations.”

6. Labrador Retrievers
It’s understandable why the Labrador Retriever has topped the list of the most popular breeds for a staggering 28 years: it’s America’s favorite dog. These cheerful, loving, and active canines are all-around family-friendly members who feel as at home on the couch as they do in the field. Following their return to England in the 1800s as duck retrievers, labs were bred by the British as hunting partners.

7. Rottweiler
The Rottweiler is a sturdy working breed developed from the mastiffs of the Roman legions and is quite strong. Within the confines of the household, the Rottie is a kind playmate and a protector while viewing the outer world with a confident aloofness. The fun and outright foolishness that make Rotties popular with their loved ones are concealed by the aloof air these top-notch guardians exhibit to strangers.

8. Siberian Husky
Although Siberian Huskies are most well-known for their extraordinary sled-pulling abilities, these canines aren’t all work and no play. Since they were initially developed to aid the Chukchi people of Siberia in more effective hunting, they do indeed make good working dogs. They are also good-natured, amiable, and devoted cuddle bugs.

9. Golden Doodle
The gorgeous Goldendoodle is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. They have the perfect balance of attractiveness, intelligence, and playfulness. Because the hybrid was cultivated to have the endearing traits of both of its parents and is well-known for being hypoallergenic, it is classified as a “designer breed.”

10. Chow Chow
The catchphrase “dignity and refinement above all” could belong to Chow Chows. The Chow is less willing to please than many other dog breeds and is almost cat-like in his aloofness and independence. The Chow is loyal and attentive to his family, despite the fact that he enjoys his independence. Although he is wary of strangers, he will accept them if his owner properly introduces them.
