2. Little Lamb

According to studies, sheep can recall the faces of up to 50 other sheep for two years and can recognize them. Even human faces can be recognized by them! Other investigations have revealed that sheep can recall their way through challenging mazes. One thing is for sure, theyā€™ve navigated their way into our hearts.Ā

3. Silly Squirrel

There have been reports of squirrels ā€œdeceptively caching.ā€ A squirrel does this to create a hole that is then vigorously covered over, but the nut is not left within. This appears to be done to deter possible food thieves. The one in this picture is keeping an eye out for potential nut robbers.Ā

4. Ollie the CavieĀ

Despite being referred to as sows and boars respectively, guinea pigs are rodents. They are commonly known as ā€œcaviesā€ because of their scientific name, ā€œCavia porcellus.ā€ Porcellus is the Latin word for ā€œsmall pig.ā€ This moniker may have originated from the pig-like squeaking sounds that they make. As long as Ollieā€™s pet parent keeps dressing him up in these cute hats, we donā€™t care what family he belongs to!Ā

5. Baby Bunny

Every year, rabbits can have up to three litters, each of which can include up to nine ā€œkittensā€ (babies). In the wild, they are born defenseless in a small opening covered in grass and their motherā€™s fur. To prevent attracting the attention of predators, mother rabbits only spend a brief amount of time with their young each day. The infants continue to live as a family and develop quickly.

6. Spikey Friends

The UKā€™s gardens are home to fascinating creatures called hedgehogs. On their back, hedgehogs have between 5000 and 7000 spines. These have the ability to be raised and lowered in response to danger. About a year passes between the replacement of each quill/spine.

7. Boop the Snoot

The fact that a musk ox is a very huge animal comes as no surprise. They are built bulkily, with a noticeable shoulder hump. When these animals are little, they practically resemble young ponies and look sweet enough to cuddle.Ā

8. Donald and Daisy Duck

Ducks have evolved to close one eye to put half of their brain to sleep while leaving the other eye open and the other half of their brain awake and attentive. This allows them to get some rest while still maintaining a lookout for potential danger. We like to just think theyā€™re winking at us instead.Ā

10. An Unexpected Guest

We bet you didnā€™t expect to see a snail on the list of adorable animals. Snails can live up to 15 years in captivity, despite having a median lifespan of 2 to 5 years. They typically withdraw into their shell when they sense danger in order to defend themselves. There are roughly 500 native land snail species in North America.
