Today, there are electric unicycles. No pedaling involved but that doesn’t mean you don’t still require that impeccable balance to get you from point A to point B. Though some models boast self-balancing features, if you’re a clumsy person, you should probably still steer clear of these contraptions.
When Gas Prices Are Too High, You Glide
The video starts with a shot of a man wearing black sweatpants, a grey sweatshirt and a black hoodie pulled over his head. He’s got a small black backpack on and he’s standing upright, gliding on an electric unicycle. Perhaps it wouldn’t be that unusual of a scene but the speed with which he’s moving is astonishing. The electric unicycle itself is quite futuristic, looking less like a single wheel and more like something that fell from an unidentified flying object (UFO). First, he’s speeding on a sidewalk which makes sense—that’s probably the appropriate place for them— but then this guy jumps expertly from the sidewalk onto the road. There’s no wobbling, no flinching—just a swift jump from the curb. The people filming are in a car and are just as awestruck as you will be when you watch the full clip. Then, as if wanting to give a show, this man from the future casually puts a hand in his pocket and jumps back onto the sidewalk in another expert move. Those two jumps aren’t enough though—you can hear the amazement of the kids inside the car as they follow behind him and he makes yet another jump onto the road. He’s zig-zagging with ease, obviously having mastered the electric unicycle. He leans his body to the right and to the left to maneuver the machine underneath his feet and the sunset backdrop just adds a little extra drama to this amazing video. Just before the video ends, you hear one of the children ask the driver to “race him!” but they eventually part ways and take in a couple of last seconds of this mysterious man weaving through traffic. It certainly looks fun, but we’d wager he has quite a bit of experience under his belt to navigate the electric unicycle so confidently. Up Next, More Peculiar Humans:
